Australian councils map out road to success with TechnologyOne’s Spatial software

TechnologyOne has signed a number of new customers for its flagship spatial product, IntraMaps in the twelve months since its acquisition of Digital Mapping Solutions (DMS), firmly cementing it as the most comprehensive enterprise software provider for local government.

New customers include South Gippsland Shire Council and City of Port Phillip in Victoria, Fraser Coast Regional Council and Burdekin Shire Council in Queensland, and The Hills Shire Council and Hornsby Shire Council in New South Wales.

“IntraMaps is our new GIS web viewing application which is a responsive, intuitive web-enabled spatial solution,” said South Gippsland Shire Council’s GIS Officer Gordon Simpson.

“Because it is so intuitive and easy to use, we expect this to drive widespread use across the business. It also introduces a public facing web map, which is accessible from any smartphone or tablet.”

Mr Simpson said the council implemented TechnologyOne IntraMaps to develop an agile system that will meet current requirements and prepare it for the future.

“We wanted a system that could grow with the business and empower us to take advantage of positive technology trends,” he said.

“TechnologyOne IntraMaps is browser-based, which means it is quick and responsive, and we no longer need to manage client software or updates.

“We’re now able to focus less on how to manage the software, and more on maximising the software to improve our own processes and productivity.

“With spatial capabilities accessible Council-wide, we are expecting to demonstrably enhance operational efficiency, service delivery and community engagement.”

TechnologyOne’s Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said its acquisition of DMS has enabled TechnologyOne to enhance its enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for its key markets.

“With the inclusion of TechnologyOne IntraMaps in our solution set, our customers can now create, visualise and interact with their enterprise information on a map across their entire organisation, enabling them to improve services for their communities,” Mr Di Marco said.
