PNG Ports switches to TechnologyOne HR and Payroll

PNG Ports Corporation Limited (PNGPCL), a state owned operator of a network of 16 ports in Papua New Guinea, has gone live with TechnologyOne's Human Resource & Payroll (HRP) solution after switching from Attaché Payroll.

The software implementation is a milestone for PNG Ports, which is undergoing an organisational restructure and revamping its services and facilities as the organisation grows.

TechnologyOne Human Resource & Payroll is based on a ‘lifecycle' approach, which ensures business decisions are made with a holistic view to help strategic change programs run as smoothly as possible.

The software's ‘360 degree' people management approach enables organisations to manage all employees based on individual requirements from induction to termination and identify training needs to help them adapt to change.

TechnologyOne General Manager - Human Resource & Payroll, Iain Rouse, said an automated IT solution is the logical way for customers to ensure they have the information they need to maintain a positive culture through any organisational restructuring.

"Our Human Resource & Payroll solution helps employees work with their managers to ensure everybody's needs are being met through a period of change, and adapt to new requirements through the creation of personalised career development plans," Mr Rouse said.

"It covers everything from training needs to compliance and regulation, and offers services like online timesheets and health and safety reporting."
PNG Ports Acting Chief Executive Officer Jerome Peniasi said this project was part of the ongoing change initiatives at PNG Ports.

"TechnologyOne enables close cooperation between the human resource department and the senior management," Mr Peniasi said.

"TechnologyOne solutions deliver a leading edge human resource management system that is an enabler of change and empowers human resource leaders to provide a greater contribution to an organisation's strategic objectives.

"The system will also eliminate some of the reporting tasks usually done outside the previous payroll system."
