Boosting resilience in communities by leveraging tech incubators

How can we create communities that reflect local needs and leverage technology to boost growth and development?

John Connelly and David Keel, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of C4DI identified a disconnect in their community. There was no shortage of highly-skilled people and many businesses experiencing challenges with no apparent solution. This realisation birthed C4DI; a tech incubator that focuses on building and curating a community relevant to local businesses.

During this session, John and David share how C4DI became the centre of digital innovation in Hull, helping technology companies grow whilst enabling traditional businesses to innovate. Joined by Mark John, Chief Operating Officer at Tramshed Tech, John and David further discuss the power of building a community which reflects local people and business, the magic in engaging corporates, challenges and opportunities around attracting and retaining young talent, and how technology incubators are set to evolve following COVID-19.

This session uncovers whether the damage caused by COVID-19 will have a lasting impact on our ecosystems or whether this disruption will generate new opportunities that were unimaginable pre-COVID. Other topics include whether the investment landscape will have a positive long-term impact, and best practice international programmes that could be adopted to help support communities locally.
